The Google Panda algorithm was a large change in their ranking algorithm released in February 2011, aimed to target low-quality websites that mass-produced unhelpful content (often called “content farms”).

It took the SEO industry by surprise, and causes a lot of problems for companies who had built their business on this mass content model.
