This morning (29/04/2021 GMT) it appears that Shopify has removed the Page Title character limit on all pages other than the homepage.

It displays the recommended character limit, but doesn’t cut off your Page Title at the limit like it used to, and fully displays the long page title on the front end.

This is an excellent move, as adding extra keywords to a Page Title can improve rankings, even if those keywords don’t show in the first few characters.

Google has come out publicly to state that there is no limit on the Page Title that they will read, and SEO’s are in fact the ones who put a limiting number on the length of a page title.
